- Great wins for Megan Cogan (Yr7 Girls), Lucy Holt (Yr8&9 Girls), Korey Blanch-Hallett (Yr8&9 Boys) and Callum Hulme (Yr10&11 Boys) plus a host of other excellent performances by Stoke youngsters in the Staffordshire Schools Cross Country Championships at Staffs Uni - full results thanks to Cannock & Stafford AC. - Having warmed up with a steady run for Stoke AC in the Midlands Cross Country Championships at the weekend, Royal Marine Brian Cole really showed his mettle as he won the Royal Navy Cross Country Championships at HMS Raleigh. This is the first time that the UK Ultra-distance International has won the race after nearly 20 years serving in the Royal Marines, and follows up his Royal Marines Cross Country win 2 weeks earlier.

- Full results from the Inter-Counties Schools Cross Country Match at Staffordshire University, Stoke-on-Trent. Apologies for the delay in publishing these, but the return sheets were in some cases very difficult to decipher! Therefore there may be some errors with competitors names, and there also appear to be a small number of missing tags. Please let me know if you have the correct information. City of Stoke's Lucy Holt was the top Staffordshire finisher as she finished an excellent 3rd in the Junior Girl's race.

- Stoke AC's Royal Marine Brian Cole completed the Washington Marine Corps Marathon in 2.40.45 despite feeling a bit under the weather. However the Royal Navy / Marines team for whom Brian was second counter beat the US Marine Corps in the Annual Challenge Cup Competition by just 2 minutes so it was well worth the effort! - Full results

- Restricted by illness Stoke AC lads found the going tough, but tried their best at the National Young Athletes Relays - full results. Best team result was 20th by the U13 boys, with Macauley Snutch the fastest individual in 14.18. The U17 men finished 41st overall with an excellent performance from Mike Harding who recorded 12.26

- Never mind the reports from other local clubs, the fastest local runner (and fastest Brit!) in the Cologne Half Marathon was City of Stoke AC's road running master Darren Washington, who despite a bad cold delivered a great performance of 78.23 - Power of 10 results

- North Staffs Cross Country League at Lyme Valley - full results have now been posted on the NSCCL website. Excellent U15 boys win for Dave Sheldon. There were many other notable individual and team performances including 2nd place finishes for U13 boy Liam Baggley and U17 man Tom Guy and strong 3rd places for Seb Duffy in the senior men and Mike Harding in the U17 men. Team victories included the U13 boys, U13 girls and U17 men, with 2nds for the U15 boys, U15 girls and senior men

- Excellent end of season PB performances from Stoke AC's field eventers at the Blackpool Open Meeting - Emma Claydon - U15 Javelin 31.62m, Najee Fox - U17 Discus 51.98m and Marc Williams - U17 Discus 37.49m. Crewe U17 athlete Liam Clowes who competes for Stoke in the Junior League won the 100m in 10.8 and the 400m in 50.9. Full results

- City of Stoke AC's combined events athletes showed their class in the English Schools Combined Events Championships at Bedford as Jazmin Sawyers (Intermediate Girls) and Alice Lennox (Senior Girls) both came away with Gold Medals. Intermediate boy Deo Milandu was also close to a medal in 4th place - full results

- Superb Silver for the U13 boys team in the Midlands Young Athletes Road Relays at Sutton Park. Strong performances too from the U15s and U17s as they both finish 5th - provisional results

5-6 September 2009
- Brilliant City of Stoke AC U20 multi-eventers Chelsea Cooper (England) and Alice Lennox (Wales) finish first and second respectively after a fantastic nip and tuck battle in the Home Countries Combined Events International at Northwood. U17 Katie Gardner (Wales) also performed brilliantly finishing 3rd U17 - results. In the U17 men's competition Deo Milandu (England) enhanced his growing reputation with an excellent 2nd place and 6th overall - results. Senior man Robin Smith (England) was well placed when he unfortunately dnf'd in the Hurdles to bring his competition to a premature end - results

5-6 September 2009
- City of Stoke athletes performed really well in the UK School Games at Cardiff. Crewe sprinter Liam Clowes who also competes for Stoke in the National Junior League dominated the 200m with a convincing win in 21.97, whilst multi-eventer Jazmin Sawyers finished a close 2nd in the 80m Hurdles and 3rd in the High Jump. 800m runner Tom Guy finished 3rd in the 800m and Rio Bailey 11th in the Long Jump - full results

6 September 2009 -
Brian Cole finishes 2nd in the Wolverhampton Marathon and wins the Staffordshire County Marathon Championships - results. Also, a good run from Ian Milner in the Half Marathon - results

- Another excellent team effort by the City of Stoke youngsters at the NYAL Final in Birmingham - provisional results Congratulations to all competitors, parents and supporters, coaches, and particularly team managers Mike Francis and George Cooper on another outstanding track and field season at this level.

A fantastic performance by Rachel Francis in the U13 girls Quadrathlon at the Open Meeting at Birchfield Harriers saw her win the gold medal. In the same competition U13 boy Ryan Sproston was also very close to a medal in 4th - Well Done! - Quadrathlon results. - Brilliant City of Stoke AC juniors gain promotion to the Premier League in National Junior League Promotion Match at Derby - Many outstanding individual performances and PBs from a team with a big proportion of U17s - Congratulations also to Shot Putters Martin Bartholomew and Jade Weston who were named Athletes of the Match and last but not least a fantastic effort by team manager Phil Weston to get everyone out this year! - full results

Confirmation of the full results and final league placings from this year's City Parks Grand Prix. Congratulations to all the winners, prize winners and participants. This was the biggest Stoke AC turn-out for a number of years, with a number of excellent performances by new members. Bring on the cross country season...

- Another excellent win for Stoke AC's track and field masters at Shrewsbury saw them take the Midlands Masters League (North) title yet again - full results thanks to Cannock & Staffs AC. Please contact Dave Hindley asap if you want to compete in the Cup Final at Stafford on 5th September.

Strong second place in the senior men for Robin Smith, whilst in 10th overall Nigel Gardner was top Master and winner of the Cheshire Senior title! - Results. - Confirmation that Stoke AC's International Ultra Runner Brian Cole has won the overall Staffs Moorlands Summer Series at Rudyard. Also good to see Ian Milner back in operation as he finishes 16th overall. Junior Ashley Wyatt also ran consistently well to finish 3rd equal in the junior series - final positions

- Multi-talented Deo Milando won an excellent Silver medal in the England Athletics U17 & U15 Combined Events Championship at Birmingham - results. In the same competition U15s James Taylor and Kieren Lee performed outstandingly well in their non specialist events to take Midlands Silver and Bronze respectively - results, whilst U17 woman Katie Gardner produced another strong performance to gain both Welsh and Northern Silvers as she finished a creditable 6th overall - results

- Second race win in the Staffs Moorlands Summer Series at Cheddleton for Royal Marine Brian Cole provisionally gives him the overall series title! - full results

8-9 August 2009 -
England Athletics U15 & U17 Championships, Bedford - Fabulous Gold medal winning performances by U17 800m runner Tom Guy with a club record of 1.53.58 and U15 Sprint Hurdler James Taylor with 11.22 for 80m Hurdles. Superb silver for U17 Discus thrower Najee Fox with 49.41m,  and a brilliant bronze and club record 4.14.93 for U15 1500m runner Dave Sheldon - full results 

6 August 2009
- Brian Cole finishes 2nd yet again in the latest Staffs Moorlands Summer Series race at Parkhall to increase his challenge for the overall title with only 2 races to go. Interestingly this race was won with a great performance from former Stoke AC star Alex Derricott who was to lose his U15B 1500m club record to Dave Sheldon a couple of days later!
