- In the absence of a number of key athletes Stoke AC's small team of senior men battled to maintain their status in the top flight of the Birmingham Cross Country League. Steve Bazell was top finisher, with a brilliant return from junior Liam Hendricken as 2nd counter. John Danahay was 3rd counter followed closely by Oliver Langford with a great run. 5th counter Mike Harding might have finished a lot higher, but for a twisted ankle on the 2nd lap, which he bravely ran through for the team. Last counter was veteran Kevin Hendricken who also finished with an injury, with Rob Lee providing the essential 7th place back-up. This result leaves Stoke AC in 13th place out of 16 teams with 3 to be relegated. Although we have a 140 point cushion on the 14th team, we need everyone out at Cheltenham in February to guarantee our survival in the toughest cross country league in the country - Full results

29 November 2011
- Congratulations to Kate Holt who has been selected to represent Great Britain at the European Cross Country Championships in Slovenia on the 11th December 2011. Those of you who follow the exploits of the endurance athletes through the cross country season will know that Kate has been in superb form in the local North Staffordshire league. Three meetings, three emphatic victories. We all know that there is a world of difference between the level and depth of competition at local level and National level.  On Saturday last Kate ran a superb race at Liverpool to finish third in the U20 age group in what was a very high quality competition.  In doing so Kate achieved her primary pre Christmas goal of qualifying to compete for Great Britain at the European cross country championships. This was a superb achievement particularly as this was Kate's last opportunity to qualify for the U20 age group. We know that Kate will run with the same determined style as she has done so far this season and we wish Kate a successful first outing in that coveted Great Britain vest. (report by Alan Morris) - UKA report
