Mike does it the hard way!
A brave front running performance from Mike Proudlove capped a first ever
1-2-3 for Stoke AC in the 21st Potteries Marathon. Mike went for it from the
gun, building up a two minute plus lead in the first 8 miles. Ray Plant
fought tooth and nail with local rival Rob Deakin (Staffs Moorlands) before
cracking Deakin through Burslem and setting off to chase Mike down. Mike's
courage in the muggy conditions paid off - but what a great run by Ray too!
Andy Allen ran his usual canny race to pull through for third for the second
year in a row.
Who says that Stoke AC are only a Track Club!
