12th January 2002 BIRMINGHAM CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE- COVENTRY

Urghh! - Post Christmas blues caused a major hiccup in our ambition to get into the top half of Division One. Fortunately, the increased depth we have this year will hopefully enable survival after an even worse combination than usual of work commitments, dropping out, illness and alternative races. Yet again Andy Allen spared our blushes with a superb performance in typical January conditions. So much for my 6 in 50 but at least I am getting closer myself! Andy Mawdsley is also getting fitter again and it was great to see a big improvement from Andy Prophett. Mike Proudlove ran despite being ill and finished!. Ian Milner also improved on last month's race. I won't mention the dnfs. A real effort will be required at Leek to remain ahead of Staffs Moorlands overall.
