This was another solid
performance to keep us in mid table but still within striking range of
promotion.
We welcomed back David Mountford who strengthened both Long and Triple
Jump, Morris Fox maintained his impressive record in the shot and
discus, Neil Fairlamb and David Brackstone both achieved PBs in the
Javelin and 400m Hurdles respectively, Ray Plant maintained his 100%
record in the steeplechase, and we welcomed Paul Nwaolise to the team,
and he held his own in the sprints.
The athlete of the Day today won no events but James Dohnal, an under
20s athlete set up good performances in Long Jump, Pole vault, sprint
hurdles and high jump. He gained us many points which meant a lot by
the end of the match.
The next senior match is the GRE Cup semi final, before the next
league match at Bedford. Let us hope that the few athletes who missed
this match will be back to strengthen the team still more.
