Brackstone finds the going a bit rough in
Poland
by Tom Gayle
David Brackstone had a tough baptism of fire in his first international
championship at the European U23 Championships in Poland. Running on the
second leg Brackstone entered the home straight in fourth just metres down on
the medals. As he came to the change over point, just inches away from passing
the baton over to his team mate Robert Tobin, he was barged to the floor,
which unfortunately ended the teams chances of a medal.
Undeterred Brackstone got back up to allow the
team to continue and despite further solid legs from Tobin and Tim Benjamin
the team finished sixth, but were left with the empty feeling of what might
have been!
