4th October 2003	NORTH STAFFORDSHIRE XC RELAYS - CANNOCK
	The North Staffordshire Cross Country Season got off to it's usual frenetic start with the relays on Cannock Chase. Sunshine and showers made sure that watching was even harder work than running. In the senior men's race Jamie Pringle (despite his pre race nerves) got us off to a perfect start - holding onto a 11 second lead over Trentham star Steve Pyke. Ian Milner then had the difficult job of holding off the chasers. That only Trentham got past him was testament to Ian's determination to give me the best possible platform - a position that I then almost completely wasted by firstly deciding to go down a different course than the rest of the race, and then by blowing up badly after trying to hold onto a flying Andy Wilton. Steve Heathcote ran a great last leg in isolation to show what might have been. I'll have to get some new glasses! Stoke U17 lads again dominated the junior races.
