Brian Cole wins team Bronze at European Ultra
Distance Championship

City of Stoke AC athlete Brian Cole and the rest of the British team
claimed third at the European 100km Championships in Italy. On a course
which toured Florence to Faenza, and involved over 4,500 feet of climbing
and descent over the Appennines, the British squad consolidated their fifth
position at the recent World Championships, finishing third to Italy and the
Russia
Cole, who was making his British team debut,
was the second of the squad home in 11th as Simon Pride led the
team home with a Bronze medal performance, whilst Matthew Lynas provided
strong support in closing the team in 13th place.
