WHALLEY SELECTED FOR GREAT BRITAIN TEAM

Report by Tom Gayle

Rob Whalley has rounded off his successful winter cross country campaign by being named in Great Britain team for the World Cross Country Championships in Brussels on March 21-22. Despite establishing a notable career as a cross country short course specialist, the Avon based City of Stoke athlete switched his attentions to securing a place in the long course team for the first time this winter and despite finishing just outside the automatic selection places at the trial race in Nottingham his form throughout the season was justification enough for the selectors to include him in the team.

The club would like to wish Rob and the rest of those athletes selected to represent Great Britain the best of luck for the championship.
