25th July 2004 NATIONAL JUNIOR ATHLETICS LEAGUE - RUGBY

Stoke won by 45.5 points and are now unbeaten at this level all season.

Extreme efforts by all athletes, especially people doing events that are not
necessarily what they trained for. Very poor conditions so times suffered,
high winds and overcast with a little rain.

Special mentions:

James Dohnal and Louis Moore again took part in many of the field events
and a track event each, Louis winning the long jump A string and getting yet
another PB in the discus and winning the B string event, and James Dohnal
winning the 110m hurdles B string and 1st in the long jump B.

Dan Townson won the 400m hurdles and is now unbeaten in that event this
season, he also ran a  gruelling total of 3 400m events (400m hurdles, 400m
and 4x400m relay). Dan also won the triple jump B competition.

Fred Mainwaring ran an excellent 2000m steeplechase, winning despite being
U17.

Greg Nixon won athlete of the match with his win in the Discus, 2nd in the
Shot and 4th in the Hammer.

Also undefeated this season were the 4x100m relay squad (Candlish,
Chomanicz, Waller, Porter, Moore) winning again by a comfortable margin.

Other winners on the track were Martin Chomanicz in the 100m, Richard Porter
in the 200m (B), Liam Jones in the 3000m (B), James Sherratt in the 400m
Hurdles (B).

Other winners in the field were Tom Dohnal in the Hammer (B) and Richard Bailey
in the Triple jump.
