29th August 2004 NATIONAL JUNIOR ATHLETICS LEAGUE PROMOTIONAL MATCH

Report by Andy Waller

The team performed well considering we only took a 12 man team instead of
20, due to people being unable to compete because of injury/holidays/work
commitments.

Martin Chomanicz once again won both his sprint events, 100 and 200m

Damien Gallagher and Liam Jones (both U17) did well in the 3000m, Damien 2nd
in the A string and Liam 1st in the B.

Greg Nixon and Louis Moore did very well in the field with double firsts in
the A and B Discus and Shot put

Stoke remain unbeaten in the 4x100m Relay (Candlish, Chomanicz, Waller,
Moore) coming home with a massive lead in 43.7sec. Considering the strong
winds and wet, spongy track this was an excellent time.

Stoke came 4th overall which is what we were aiming for considering we
couldn't enter quite a few events due to a weakened team.

The weather was windy with occasional downpours.
