1st May 2005  MIDLAND WOMEN'S LEAGUE DIVISION 1 - NOTTINGHAM

A great start to the 2005 Track & Field season demonstrating once again the importance of filling as many events as possible and having a great team spirit.

A lot of personal bests signify that the majority of the team have wintered well and are keen to compete in this new season. Athlete of the match for Stoke was Chelsea Cooper with a personal best in all her individual events closely followed by Jasmine Rowe and Ashley Nelson with wins in both their individual events. In the endurance events it was good to see Michelle Cope (formally Ross) back on the track taking 2nd in the A string 3000m and following up with a 1st B string 1500m later in the day. Aimee Simcox and Clare Booker were rewarded for their hard work and determination throughout the winter with personal bests in the 1500m & 3000m respectively. In the field U15 Jessica Heath produced personal bests in the shot and long jump for two first places and Jessica Devaney produced a personal best in winning the shot and also followed up wityh a win in the B string high jump.
