7/8th July 2006 ENGLISH SCHOOLS TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS - GATESHEAD 8 medals for the 17 Stoke AC athletes competing at the English Schools Stoke AC athletes competing for Staffordshire and Cheshire showed why the club is such a hotbed for young talent, and also reflected the quality of coaching available across a wide range of events. Gold Medals for 5 Stoke AC youngsters Kate Holt (Junior Girls 1500m), Ashlee Nelson (Intermediate Girls 100m), Jasmine Rowe (Intermediate Girls 200m), Andrew Marsh (Intermediate Boys Pole Vault) and Emma Jackson (Senior Girls 800m) were an excellent return for one club against England's top youngsters. Chelsea Cooper (Intermediate Girls 80m Hurdles) and Eliot Price (Senior Boys Discus) won silvers and Martin Bartholomew picked up a bronze in the Intermediate Boys Discus. Chelsea was a mere 100th of a second away from Gold! Alice Lennox in the Intermediate Girls Long Jump was only 1cm away from a bronze and Robert Dean also performed extremely well for 4th in the Junior Boys Hammer. Top 5 finalists included Beth Hicken in the Junior Girls 200m and Mark Cooper in the Junior Boys Pole Vault. Morgan Brown was also a finalist in the Intermediate Girls 200m. Bad luck on the day was reserved for the outstanding Brad Garside in the Junior Boys 80m Hurdles, but he will certainly bounce back in the AAA U15 championships later on in the season. Club records were set by Emma Jackson (800m) in the U20 women age-group, Brad Garside (80m Hurdles) in the U15 boys, and Ben Williams in the U15 boys (Triple Jump).
