A brilliant summers day at
this fantastic event sponsored by Bourne Sports saw a series of
competitive races across the age-groups. Top senior
international cross country runner Tom Humphries yet again
showed the younger athletes how they need to perform if they
want get to his level.
There was a fair turnout from Stoke AC, bearing in mind that the
track season has only just finished, and quite a few of our
athletes did not compete because they are having a rest! In any
case the U15 Boy's and Senior Men's squads packed well to win
their team races.
Top individual performers were Alex Derricott - 3rd in the senior
men's race, Steve Bazell 5th in the same race, and Mark Kinch 3rd
in the Vet's race. Connor Bradbury, Kris Washington and Jake Hart
ran well to all finish 7th in the U11, U13 and U15 boy's races
respectively!
In the girls races Sarah Griffiths was the pick of the performers
with an excellent 13th in the U11 girls.
