Nigel Gardner was a late selection for the M40B 400m and put in a great performance finishing in 5^th position. Race Walkers John Sinclair and Phil Bailey get better and better. John finished a superb 3^rd position in the M40A race and Phil won the M40B race. Adrian Thiemicke competed extremely well to finish 5^th in a very competitive M40A 1500m. Ray Ibbs showed what a great competitor he is with 2^nd place in the M50 1500m.    

Our Field event athletes were also on top form. Clive Howell threw exceptionally well to win the M50 Shot and finished 2^nd in the M35 Discus. Peter Wainwright was 2^nd in the M40 Javelin and Brian Eggleton finished 6^th in the M60 competition. Nigel Gardner was still recovering from his earlier track exploits but still finished 3^rd in the M40 High Jump.

Mike Warrilow showed what an excellent athlete he is with wins in the M50 High Jump and M50 Triple Jump. Richard Barrington earned valuable points with a superb 2^nd place in the M60 Triple Jump.

The final event of the evening was the medley relay. Our team of Mike Warrilow, Paul Williams, Adrian Thiemicke and Nigel Gardner put in a tremendous effort, but had to settle for 4^th place. This was one of our best team performances to date and was our third successive victory this season. The next meeting will be at Sutton Coldfield on Wednesday 9^th August.
