Once again our sprinters were on top form and set the standard for the evening. Tony Leigh and Paul Williams have formed a partnership that will take some beating. Both Tony and Paul cruised to double victories in the 100m and 400m. Mike Warrilow was the victim of a very dubious start in the M50 100m but retained his composure for 3^rd place in the M50 100m. Richard Barrington rounded off the sprints with another convincing victory in the M60 400m. Phil Bailey and Brian Eggleton performed well for 2^nd positions in the 2k walks. Alan Burt was asked to compete outside of his age group again and ran well for 4^th in the M35 1500. Mark Kinch showed the spirit within the team. Despite not being fully fit, he put in a brave performance for 4^th place in the M40 competition. Chris Bourne was a star performer on the night with a convincing win in the M50 competition.

Nigel Gardner gained valuable points with 2^nd position in the M40 Triple Jump and 3^rd in the M40 High Jump. Richard Barrington showed his versatility with 4^th position in the M60 High Jump competition. Clive Howell again showed his throwing prowess with 3^rd in the M35 Discus and was narrowly beaten into 2^nd position in the M50 Shot.

The medley relay has never been a very successful event for us and as in the previous relays; we had to settle for 3^rd position.

This was one of our best team performances to date and was our third successive victory this season.

The next meeting will be at Sutton Coldfield on Wednesday 8^th August.
