STRONG
RUN FROM MICHELLE IN ENDINBURGH |
|
|
Report by Steve (Michelle's partner and
manager etc!)
Michelle
was invited up to run in a newly controlled and revised Edinburgh Half
Marathon. As always she put
her heart and sole into it on a cold and
very windy Sunday Morning with wind speeds of 20mph+.
The course was a Point to Point. The start was in a district of Edinburgh
called Cramond, the race took place on a mixture of Tarmac coastal promenade
bleeding in and out of local coast roads to the finish at
Musselburgh race course.
There
was a total runner count in excess of 3000+, predominately male, with
Michelle being one of only a few elite class females.
As she puts it... "I ran the first mile with a moderate cross wind then
12.1 miles directly into the strong wind! My finishing time does not really
represent how hard I had to work to get there".
She finished in the top 10 overall and was the the first female home by more
than 5 minutes. Although her time was a none PB threatening 76 minutes,
all
in all it was a good run for experience in difficult running conditions, and
to enforce her current fitness, strength and ability levels.
