MOORLANDS CHRISTMAS CRACKER |

Santa Steve!
Now in its 25th year, this year's Christmas Cracker saw hundreds of runners,
many in fancy dress, brave the snow and cold to take part, including Stoke
AC's very own Steven Bazell (race no. 168).
Dressed as Father Christmas, complete with bells and a Santa sack, Steve was
running to raise money for the North Staffs Neo-natal intensive care unit,
where his son was born earlier this year.
Christopher John Bazell was born 7 weeks early, weighing only 3lb 2oz and
spent the next four weeks in the Neo-natal unit. The support and care they
gave to him whilst he was in the unit was second to none. He is now doing
very well and growing fast and it won't be long till he's seen chasing
daddy. "Cath and I wanted to do something to say thanks to the staff
and the Christmas Cracker seemed like the perfect event."
Heavy snow over The Roaches meant that due to health & safety reasons,
the course had to be changed to a loop round Tittesworth reservoir. The race
was won by Matt Clowes from Staffs Moorlands, whilst Steve finished 17 out
of 337 runners and was the first of many dressed as Father Christmas home.
Steve and Cath would like to say a big thank you to everyone who's been very
generous in donating to this worthwhile cause and we have so far raised over
£300. We hope to present the money early in the new year, however if you
would still like to make a donation please see Steve at Northwood or at the
next race.
