7 March 2009  INTER-COUNTIES CROSS COUNTRY - NOTTINGHAM

There was a much better turn-out this year by Stoke AC athletes selected for Staffordshire led by a great performance from U17 Kate Holt. Younger sister Lucy also recorded perhaps her best ever result in finishing 13th in the U13 age-group. Not to be outdone older sister Heather had a superb run in the U20 age-group. In the senior men's race Tom Gayle continued his return to action with a strong performance just outside the top 100.

If some of the finishing positions look a little bit on the low side it should be noted that this really is the toughest competition in the UK for these age-groups, and that 10 seconds can cover a dozen places. Just to get to this event is a major achievement in itself! So well done to all.
