21 June 2009  MIDLAND TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS - BIRMINGHAM

U20 Chelsea Cooper picked up two Golds over 200m (24.96) and Long Jump (5.82m) as Stoke AC athletes returned to these Championships in greater numbers.

Other Gold medalists included newcomer Brett Byrd in the senior Javelin (59.62m), Matt Rollings in the U20 Long Jump (6.72m), Gregg Nixon in the senior Shot (13.61m), and Ben Williams in the U20 Triple Jump (14.07m). Nixon also took silver in the senior Discus. (43.71m)

Silver was also a great reward for 1500m runner Tom Gayle (3.56.00) after lots of injury problems. David Mountford returned from a few years in the wilderness to capture the senior Triple Jump Bronze medal (14.22m)

Finally endurance runner Seb Duffy set a great new PB for 5000m as he finished 4th (15.01.96)
