CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010 - STAFFORD
On the freezing mixture of hard and muddy ground that marked a typical
Stafford Common cross country event, some great individual and team
performances highlighted the fact that City of Stoke are by no means
finished as a club cross country club. Particularly promising is the fact
that overall numbers competing from the club are up, and we finished a
senior men's team after a number of years absence!
Brilliant individual medals were achieved by Katie Holt with Gold in the
U17 women's race, and Lucy Holt with Bronze in the U13 girls, but all of
Stoke AC's athletes can hold their heads high with the quality of their
participation.
The cancelled Staffordshire Cross Championships medals were also awarded
based on performances on this race. The U13 girls, Lucy Holt, Tasha Stone
and Natasha Clowes gained a fabulous 1 - 2 - 3. In the U15 boys Callum Hulme
ran the race of his life so far to take silver. Not surprsingly Kate Holt
took Gold in the U17 women, whilst track star Emma Jackson showed she is
building up good strength for the summer competitions with Gold in the
senior women.
