City of Stoke AC cross country runners take multiple individual and team victories at Winsford

The first North Staffs Cross Country league event of the winter saw the club’s athletes produce excellent early season performances.

In the U11 boys race Nathaniel Rowe and Taylor McIlreavy finished in 1st and 2nd place. The U11 girls were led home by Niamh Bold in 11th place. Jake Barker and Daniel Jones finished 2nd and 3rd respectively bringing a team win too. In the U13 girls Libby Andrzejewski was first home for Stoke in 14th. Josh Lally’s 6th place was the top result in the U15 boys, with Maisie Tinwell likewise in 15th place for the U15 girls.

Casey Maddock was a dominant winner of the U17 men and Alex Brecker even more so in the senior men, and both teams won their category, the men by more than 160 points. The men packed their first 7 runners in the top 20.

In the U17 women Elizabeth Stanyer was top performer in 10th. Emma Jackson returned to competitive cross country with an excellent 2nd place behind England Masters International Claire Martin from Telford in the senior women’s race.
