Stoke AC athletes in action for England Masters in Temby

I have had a special day supporting our wonderful athletes representing England Masters at Tenby.
The first race saw Donna Sherwin and Vic Hughes in action and both running superbly on a tough course with Donna robbed of victory by a marshall blunder but Vic scooped 4th in her category.
Due to logistical problems I missed Carl Astley (individual participant) and Rebecca Harrison in their HMs with Becs finishing a superb 4th in her class. Again this was a super tough course which made it about position and effort and both came out high in both.
In the final race over 10k Stuart Fisher proved to himself that he had earned the right to wear the England vest with a brilliant 13th overall place and with at least 2 team mates behind him.
Emma Taylor not only finished 22nd overall but was 1st lady and winner of the international race. Once again she was helped by her extremely supportive partner Christopher Morgan who was a true gentleman finishing 1 behind Em.
As a superlative footnote City of Stoke AC had 3 age group team captains out there doing themselves, club and country proud – Donna Sherwin, Vic Hughes and Emma Taylor.
Well done everyone.
