We welcome enquiries about joining us. We cater for junior, senior and vet athletes, so why not get in touch?

Training is usually on a Tuesday and Thursday night at Northwood Stadium. Our coaches cover a range of track and field events, road and cross country,  so if you think you may be interested then please email us at secretary@stokeac.org.uk and tell us a little bit about yourself (such as age and the event you may be interested in). We will then inform you if we have space in the relevant training groups to accommodate you.

Stoke AC- information for NEW JUNIOR STARTERS – first Thursday in each month @ Northwood Stadium 

We hope you enjoy your new starter and taster sessions with the club.  

Please fill in the membership form below and bring the completed form together with £20 to the wooden pavilion by the side of the track at Northwood Stadium when you attend your first session. This sum will cover your first two weeks with us and will come off your annual fee if you decide to stay and join and if you do not, we keep the money for our troubles.if it is your first time please come about 10 minutes early so we can sort the paperwork

Please be aware of the starting age:

9 years old

We ask that parents/carers do the following (for the wellbeing of the athlete) 

• stay on site during the sessions. We encourage you to be there and watch – in case your child needs the toilet or is injured.  
• please let your child know where you are – so we can find you if need be (in the clubhouse etc) 
• collect your child from the side of the track at the end of the session. 

ALL New junior members will start on designated inductions nights (the first Thursday in each month) and will start in the beginners’ group – where we will establish track etiquette, rules with them and look at their ability. The focus is on Run, Jump, Throws and ‘fun’ through learning basic skills.   

All events are covered, so that our young athletes have a chance to try everything and establish some fitness before moving on.  

The three coaches for these Beginners will be key to introducing your young person to athletics and it is their role to look at pathways to age and event specific coaching. Please respect their experience and support them.
