An impressive set of results from our runners this weekend with the men excelling at Alderley Edge and the ladies in total dominance at Market Drayton
Alderley Bypass 10k 1166 Finishers
A well organised race with a big field and a strong turnout from Stoke athletes. Jamie has been working on building his strength and improved his season’s best by 30s – now to add speed. He was also 1st V45. Alex Braybrooke continues to improve with consistent training and logged another PB. Jordan and Vinnie were not at their best but still recorded fast times. Jord clearly not recovered from his recent covid, and Vinnie picked up a bug in recent days.
Another one benefitting from regular training is Liam and he recorded a big PB with much more to come with race practice. Dave Morris consistently posts top times even after completing a number of marathons recently.
Phil and Emily ran for the pure sake of getting a faster run in their legs whilst Katie and Harriet (Hattie) are both finding their racing feet, Katie PB’d whilst Hattie was not far off her own after a fast start.

Market Drayton 10k 1468 Finishers
Another high turnout at this brilliantly supported race around the town of Market Drayton. Both Matt and Tom have been ill this week so to finish 6th and 10th was incredible and shows that both are capable of much faster times.
However, it must be said that the ladies absolutely dominated proceedings and got a special mention from the announcer. Donna retained her title making it 3 wins in a row though not happy with her time it is still an incredible achievement. Nia continues to improve with another PB and 2nd lady for the 2ndyear in a row. It’s great to see Sarah back racing and though not at her racing best still recorded a sub 39 and is clearly getting back in shape as she came home in 3rd.
Our newest member, Amanda dipped under 40 mins for 5thlady despite an asthma flare up. Our last athlete home was Lucy who clearly was not at her best but still 6th lady. Clearly the effects of a long weekend of Cani-cross racing last weekend were in her legs.

Kelly Butler and Dave Morrell planned at day at the seaside up in Formby and dropped in at Liverpool to have a run out in this event as part of their long Sunday run. The aim was to work on their LT2 levels and target 6:30 pace. Target achieved.

After several changes of mind and physio work on his shoulder, Ryan Morris decided to do this race and it was quite clear that it was not going to be his best run but despite everything his 1:25:33 was good for 10th place.
